Kitchenettes' Garden

Life began in a garden...
Genesis 2:8-9
The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden,
and there He put the man whom He had formed.
And out of the ground the Lord god made every tree grow
that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.
The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden.

Think about the Lord God as the Master Gardener:
this is something very close to His heart!

The Kitchenettes spent a day beautifying the nursery
beds on our church property - a true labor of love!
They had the honor of being mentored by
the loveliest of all gardeners - Mrs. Sue McKee.
Words will never describe what a treasure this
magnificent woman of God is to all of us - and how
she imparted her gift into the girls was quite captivating!

Sue usually does all the gardening on

the church grounds by herself -

meticulously selecting the prettiest plants
and flowers to create a masterpiece that we
all enjoy immensely.

The Kitchenettes had the opportunity

to put into practice:
"THE ESSENCE OF HOSPITALITY"

that quality of being a servant
in the house of the Lord and to His people.
They were instrumental in blessing our whole church
and community by taking their time to graciously
transform the property!

GARDENS REPRESENT LIFE
Numbers 24:4-6
Like valleys stretching out in the distance,
like gardens planted by rivers, like sweet herbs
planted by the gardener God, like red cedars by
pools and springs, their buckets will brim with water,
their seed will spread life everywhere.

PLANTS AND FLOWERS ARE A
REPRESENTATION OF GOD'S GLORY

Wilderness and desert will sing joyously, the badlands
will celebrate and flower - like crocus in spring, bursting
into blossom, a symphony of song and color.
Mountain glories of Lebanon - a gift.
Awesome Carmel, stunning Sharon - gifts.
God's resplendent glory, fully on display.
God awesome, God majestic.

WE ARE LIKE A WELL-WATERED GARDEN
Isaiah 58:10
You'll be like a well-watered garden,
a gurgling spring that never runs dry.

GARDENING RESTORES AND
RENOVATES THE COMMUNITY
Isaiah 58:12
You'll be known as those who can fix anything,
restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate,
make the community livable again.

PRAISE IS COMPARED TO A GARDEN OF FLOWERS
Psalm 61:11
For as the earth bursts with spring wildflowers,
as as a garden cascades with blossoms, so the Master, God,
brings righteousness into full bloom and puts praise on
display before the nations.

WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD
COMPARED TO?
Luke 13:18-19
What is the kingdom of God like? To what shall I compare it?
It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden;
and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air
nested in its branches.

This reminds me that a garden is also a sanctuary!
A place of rest - a place to be revived!

His masterpiece!

I am blessed to be surrounded by marvelous women...

those who are full of God's wonderment, kind, loving,

gentle and generous beyond measure!

The Kitchenettes' Club would not even be possible

without the willingness of these ladies to teach

what has been given to them by God.

One of my most beloved friends - Cindy Ladwig -

is an excellent example of this - she serves and loves

these girls - she gives her time, support, finances

and prayers to them!

Thank you Cindy - we truly love you!

and so the day begins...

all of these hideous and unsightly sprigs must be dug up

to make room for our new plantings...

was extracted from the soil...
